RETREATS
Retreats allow students to take time from their everyday routines to
examine their lives and spirituality. Student leaders work with
the Director of Campus Life to make the retreat experience spiritually
rewarding and memorable. There is one retreat for each class at Regis
High School.
Freshman Service Retreat
This day-long retreat is for freshman year students.
It is offered in the fall and led Senior Peer Ministers. The freshmen
are orientated about Regis' Christian Community Service program, serve
at various organizations in the nearby community, and address the need
for service in our lives.
Sophomore Bread Retreat
This day long retreat is for sophomores. It is offered in late winter
and is led by Senior Peer Ministers. The sophomores travel away from school
to a nearby retreat site to reflect on the life of Jesus where he
took, blessed, broke, and shared bread with his faithful followers. The sophomores
make homemade bread during the course of the day, contemplate their
own faith journey and enjoy each other's
company through activity and prayer.
Junior-Senior Encounter
This is a three-day weekend retreat
geared for juniors and seniors who have not yet attended. It is offered
in January and led by both adults and select seniors. The Encounter
focuses on building and empowering relationships with God, self, and others.
Senior Journey Retreat
This is a day long retreat for
seniors. It is offered in late spring and is led by faculty, staff
and alumni. The seniors travel away from school to a nearby retreat
site to reflect on the journey of life, especially the transition from
high school to college.
LITURGIES
As an important time for students to reflect on God and their own spirituality,
liturgies are central to the life of a student at Regis. Weekly Masses, Advent and Lenten
Reconciliation services and other special liturgies are planned throughout the year by students.
Students serve as ministers at Masses as well as provide music.
